Divisions with Hermana Pozo

This week I had divisions with Hermana Pozo!! It was great! We went to her area, Independencia, which was my first area ever in the mission so that was super fun! 

We had an awesome day finding lots of people. I ate tuna in a tomato for the first time which was an interesting flavor combination I had never tried before. I also explained the plot of the huger games movie which I saw more than a year and a half ago. Ended the day with Gridos, obviously. 

Divisions with Hermana Jackson 

Had Divisions with Hermana Jackson in our area which was way too much fun! She explained to me the plot of the hunger games movie (totally didn't remember and accidentally lied to Hermana Pozo about literally almost every detail of the movie the day before. So sorry Hermana Pozo.) 

We had an awesome day where we visited a cute old couple and a recent convert. The visit with the recent convert was interesting due to the fact that the night before the police totally falsely accused her son of a crime and broke her door.

So we heard that story for a hot minute which was full of plot twists, betrayal, and injustice. 

After that we finished the day with Grido and an exciting Noche de Hermanas where we put our faces in flour. (I'll not be giving the context) 

Other Things 

• I had my final interview with President 

• Did a scavenger hunt for Hermana Jorgensen 

• Made browniesss

• Listened to way too much Christmas music 

Spiritual Thought 

This week a scripture kept coming back to my mind that I've maybe shared before but that I love, 

"27 And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness." 

This is 2 Nephi 5:27, when the Nephites are obeying the commandments of God in all things. I like this because it's a reminder when we love God and seek to obey him and follow him, we live after a happy manner. I was also studying the talk "Joy and Spiritual Survival" which mentions how our happiness is not determined by the circumstances of our lige, but our focus. 

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have the recipe to be happy all the time, even on hard days, because we have a focus on Jesus and the joy that is set before us when we follow him!

Divisiones con la Hermana Pozo

¡Esta semana tuve divisiones con la Hermana Pozo! ¡Fue genial! Fuimos a su area, Independencia, que fue mi primer area en la misión, ¡así que fue súper divertido!

Tuvimos un día genial y nos encontramos con muchísima gente. Comí atún con tomate por primera vez, una combinación de sabores interesante que nunca había probado. También les expliqué la trama de la película "Los Juegos del Hambre", que vi hace más de un año y medio. Terminé el día con Gridos, obviamente.

Divisiones con la Hermana Jackson

Tuve divisiones con la Hermana Jackson en nuestra area, ¡y fue divertidísimo! Me explicó la trama de la película "Los Juegos del Hambre" (no la recordaba para nada y, sin querer, le mentí a la Hermana Pozo sobre casi todos los detalles de la película el día anterior. Lo siento mucho, Hermana Pozo).

Tuvimos un día genial en el que visitamos a una simpática pareja de ancianos y a una recién conversa. La visita con la recién conversa fue interesante debido a que la noche anterior la policía acusó falsamente a su hijo de un delito y derribó su puerta.

Así que escuchamos esa historia durante un buen rato, llena de giros inesperados, traición e injusticia.

Después, terminamos el día con Grido y una emocionante Noche de Hermanas donde nos enharinamos. (No daré el contexto).

Otras cosas

• Tuve mi última entrevista con el presidente.

• Hice una búsqueda del tesoro para la hermana Jorgensen.

• Hice brownies.

• Escuché demasiada música navideña.

Pensamiento espiritual

Esta semana me vino a la mente un pasaje de las Escrituras que quizás ya haya compartido antes, pero que me encanta:

"27 Y aconteció que vivimos de una manera feliz"

Se trata de 2 Nefi 5:27, donde los nefitas obedecen los mandamientos de Dios en todo. Me gusta esto porque nos recuerda que cuando amamos a Dios y procuramos obedecerlo y seguirlo, vivimos felices. También estaba estudiando la charla "Gozo y Supervivencia Espiritual", que menciona que nuestra felicidad no depende de las circunstancias de nuestra vida, sino de nuestro enfoque.

Los miembros de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días tienen la receta para ser felices siempre, incluso en los días difíciles, porque nos centramos en Jesús y en el gozo que nos espera cuando lo seguimos.
