The Temple

Divisions... for three days? 

So last week the secretary tells us we have to do divisions with the sister's in Monte Hermoso on Monday and Tuesday so they can get their chip for their phone. 

So we plan divisions and then we get a surprise message from another sister, Sister Medrano who tells us she's going home from the mission and the secretary, unbeknownst to us, told her we were going to go pick her up and do divisions with her on her last day. 

So in the middle of p-day we scramble to go to the terminal to pick her up and I take her to Centro to pick up some souvenirs and we go to the office so she can have her interview with President. 

(While waiting for the interview we have a phone call lesson and the girl tells us she wants to get baptized lets gooo!) 

So anyways after her interview she then has to do some more stuff in the office to prepare to go home so I'm with one of the sisters from Monte Hermoso y Sister Medrano in the office until 10:38pm while they try and figure everything out. (Mind you at 9:00pm we have to be in the house every day and at 10:30pm we need to be sleeping.)

But everything was resolved, Hermana Medrano went home and we had some lovely divisions with Monte Hermoso. 

That is until it turns out they need to stay another day because the people who were supposed to bring the chip to their phone didn't bring the chip and so they had to buy a new chip and wait a day for it to get shipped. 

So basically we had some sick 3 days divisions, not to mention the fact that they came on Sunday to see the temple dedication as well so that's 4/7 days of the week in Bahía. 

Dedicación del Templo

The temple dedication was this week and it was excellent!! I had never heard a dedicatory prayer before and it was so powerful! You could really feel the spirit as he spoke and it made me realize the power and authority the apostles carry with them! 

We hand stitched our hankies for the Hosana Shout and even added a temple picture. Who knew I could sew?

Spiritual Thought 

Doctrine and Covenants 130:18-19

"18 Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection.

19 And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come."

I like this scripture because I think that it really explains the importance of this life. We are here to become like God. If God is all knowing and all powerful, that means we've got a lot more to learn and do. 

I feel like I used to be a pretty lazy person, I didn't understand the importance of education, I was fine with who I was and what I knew. But now I find I'm not content with who I am and what I know, because I know there's so much more I could be, I have a divine destiny and I want to be the person God knows I can be. 

So if you're not sick of hearing the word "know" after that paragraph, I just want to remind everyone that our purpose in life is to learn and grow, so don't forget to spend a little of each day learning something new!

Divisiones... ¿Por tres días? 

Así que la semana pasada el secretario nos dice que tenemos que hacer divisiones con las hermanas en Monte Hermoso el lunes y martes para que puedan conseguir su chip por teléfono. Así que planeamos divisiones y luego recibimos un mensaje sorpresa de otra hermana, la hermana Medrano, quien nos dice que se está volviendo de la misión y que la secretaria, sin que nosotros lo supimos, le dijo que íbamos a recogerla y hacer divisiones con ella en su último día. 

Así que en medio de Pday nos apresuramos a ir a la terminal a recogerla y la llevo al Centro a buscar algunos recuerdos y vamos a la oficina para que pueda tener su entrevista con el presidente. (mientras esperamos la entrevista tenemos una lección de llamada telefónica y la chica nos dice que quiere bautizarse, vamos) así que después de su entrevista tiene que hacer más cosas en la oficina para prepararse para ir a casa así que estoy con una de las hermanas de Monte Hermoso y hermana Medrano en la oficina hasta las 22:38 mientras intentan resolver todo. (cuidado a las 9:00 pm tenemos que estar en la casa todos los días y a las 22:30 tenemos que estar durmiendo.)

Pero todo se resolvió, Hermana Medrano se fue a casa y tuvimos unas encantadoras divisiones con Monte Hermoso. Eso es hasta que resulta que necesitan quedarse otro día porque las personas que se suponía que debían llevar el chip a su teléfono no trajeron el chip y tuvieron que comprar un nuevo chip y esperar un día para que se enviara. 

Así que básicamente tuvimos algunas divisiones de 3 días, sin mencionar el hecho de que vinieron el domingo a ver la dedicación del templo también, así que son los 4/7 días de la semana en Bahía.

Dedicación del Templo 

La dedicación del templo fue esta semana y fue excelente!! ¡Nunca antes había escuchado una oración dedicatoria y era tan poderosa! ¡Realmente podía sentir el Espíritu mientras hablaba y me hizo darme cuenta del poder y la autoridad que los Apóstoles llevan consigo!

• Llegó a los 17 meses como misionero hoy 

• 0 amigos en la iglesia esta semana a propósito 

• Hicimos unas hamburguesas fuegos con 6 hermanas en la casa 

Pensamiento espiritual 

Doctrina y Convenios 130:18-19 

"18 Cualquier principio de inteligencia que alcancemos en esta vida, se levantará con nosotros en la resurrección. 

19 Y si una persona Obtiene más conocimiento e inteligencia en esta vida a través de su diligencia y obediencia que otra, tendrá tanta ventaja en el mundo venidero."

 Me gusta esta escritura porque creo que realmente explica la importancia de esta vida. Estamos aquí para llegar a ser como Dios. Si Dios es todo conocido y poderoso, eso significa que tenemos mucho más que aprender y hacer. 

Siento que solía ser una persona bastante perezosa, no entendía la importancia de la educación, estaba bien con quién era y con lo que sabía. Pero ahora encuentro que no estoy contento con lo que soy y lo que sé, porque sé que hay mucho más que podría ser, tengo un destino divino y quiero ser la persona que Dios sabe que puedo ser.

Entonces, si no estás harto de escuchar la palabra "saber" después de ese párrafo, solo quiero recordarles a todos que nuestro propósito en la vida es aprender y crecer, ¡así que no olvides pasar un poco de cada día aprendiendo algo nuevo!
