This week we had the baptism of Milagros!! She is the best and gave up smoking to get baptized! After almost 2 months of work she finally arrived at this special day and she was so excited! She brought her boyfriend Eduardo and her son Lucas to her baptism which was so great!! 

She was worried about bringing her son Lucas because she thought he would shout or run around in the middle of everything because of his disability and the newness of the place to him. But to her surprise stayed quietly seated the whole time and every 5 minutes turned his head to look at us during the baptismal service to give us a thumbs up so I think he really enjoyed church! 

But I don't think he enjoyed the Chocotorta or my cookies at the end because he ended up smashing more than he ate haha

Everything went great in the baptism and Milagros said the water was so warm she wanted to go swimming 🏊‍♀️

The Tabernacle Choir comes to Argentina for the Very First Time! 

What a special day it was on Saturday to get to see them sing!! We watched the transmission with the Stake here in Santa Rosa and it was so special!! You could feel the spirit in every song. They sang with some famous singers from Argentina like Magie Cullen, Dos Mas Uno, and especially La Sole!! Soledad, or La Sole, is very famous here in Argentina and after the concert, famous for me as well! 

Anyways it was a beautiful concert and I'm just waiting to go home and get to listen to Tren de Cielo again 🚂☀️

Other Things 

Today I have 14 months in the mission

I'm now a runner, I run twice a week. Are we impressed? 

I'm learning French from Spanish just to spice things up in my language study

Spiritual Thought

I was studying Humility this week and I love these two scriptures that i found, 

Doctrine and covenants 112:10 

"10 Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers."

And Ether 9:35

"35 And it came to pass that when they had humbled themselves sufficiently before the Lord he did send rain upon the face of the earth; and the people began to revive again, and there began to be fruit in the north countries, and in all the countries round about. And the Lord did show forth his power unto them in preserving them from famine."

I like these verses because I think it explains humility well. When we are humble we allow someone to lead us, accepting we don't know everything. We can only receive blessings from the Lord when we humble ourselves enough to be guided by him and receive these blessings. 

It's like preschoolers with their Teacher. The teacher knows more than the preschoolers, but the Teacher can only guide, teach, and help the preschoolers learn and grow when the preschoolers listen and pay attention. If we don't listen to God and accept that he teaches us and guides us, we won't receive his blessings and guidance.

Deportes Acuáticos

¡Esta semana tuvimos el bautizo de Milagros! ¡Ella es tan buena y dejó de fumar para bautizarse! Después de casi dos meses de trabajo, por fin llegó a este día tan especial y estaba emocionadísima. ¡Llevó a su novio Eduardo y a su hijo Lucas a su bautismo, lo cual fue genial!

Le preocupaba traer a Lucas porque pensaba que gritaría o correría por todos lados debido a su discapacidad y a lo nuevo que era el lugar. Pero para su sorpresa, se quedó sentado en silencio todo el tiempo y cada cinco minutos giraba la cabeza para mirarnos durante el servicio bautismal y saludarnos con el pulgar, así que creo que disfrutó mucho de la iglesia.

 Pero no creo que le gustó la Chocotorta ni mis galletas al final porque terminó destrozando más de lo que comió jaja.

Todo salió genial en el bautismo y Milagros dijo que el agua estaba tan caliente que quería nadar en ello. 🏊‍♀️

¡El Coro del Tabernáculo llega a Argentina por primera vez!

¡Qué día tan especial fue el sábado verlos cantar! Vimos la transmisión con la Estaca aquí en Santa Rosa y ¡fue tan especial! Se sentía el espíritu en cada canción. Cantaron con algunos cantantes famosos de Argentina como Magie Cullen, Dos Más Uno y, especialmente, ¡La Sole! Soledad, o La Sole, es muy famosa aquí en Argentina y, después del concierto, también para mí jaja

 En fin, fue un concierto precioso y estoy esperando volver a casa y escuchar Tren de Cielo de nuevo 🚂☀️

Otras cosas

Hoy cumplo 14 meses en la misión.

Ahora soy corredor; corro dos veces por semana. ¿Están impresionados?

Estoy aprendiendo francés del español para darle más sabor a mis estudios.

Pensamiento espiritual

Esta semana estudié Humildad y me encantaron estos dos pasajes que encontré:

Doctrina y Convenios 112:10

"10 Sé humilde; y el Señor tu Dios te llevará de la mano y dará respuesta a tus oraciones"

Y Éter 9:35

"35 Y aconteció que cuando se hubieron humillado suficientemente ante el Señor, él envió la lluvia sobre la faz de la tierra; y el pueblo comenzó a revivir, y empezó a haber frutos en las tierras del norte, y en todas las tierras circunvecinas. Y les mostró el Señor su poder para librarlos del hambre.."

Me gustan estos versículos porque creo que explican bien la humildad. Cuando somos humildes, permitimos que alguien nos guíe, aceptando que no  sabemos todo. Solo podemos recibir bendiciones del Señor cuando nos humillamos lo suficiente como para dejarnos ser guiado por él y recibir estas bendiciones.

Es como los niños de preescolar con su Maestro. El maestro sabe más que los niños de preescolar, pero el Maestro solo puede guiar, enseñar y ayudar a los niños de preescolar a aprender y crecer cuando estos escuchan y prestan atención. Si no escuchamos a Dios y aceptamos que él nos enseña y nos guía, no recibiremos sus bendiciones ni su guía.

I almost watched the bishops son die / casi vi el hijo del obispo ser aplastado 8/18/25

Bishops son got Baptized

This week was the baptism of the bishops son and it was super cute! It was basically a stake event with how many people came and they made a little video of photos and videos of the kid and everything. 

We had a lot of friends come to the baptism which was great and our friend Milagros is more determined than ever to stop smoking for her baptism! 

This week she gets baptized on the 24th so please pray for her to keep clean this week! 

Fechaaa 

Eduardo is the partner of our friend Milagros, and previously, we were really unsure if he was interested in the Gospel or just wanted to support Milagros. But this week he told us that he had a dream where Jesus looked at him and told him he needed a change. Eduardo said he was really ready for a change in his life and is going to stop smoking too so he can get baptized with Milagros! His baptism will be the 31st if he can stop smoking in time so pray for him too! 

Breaking News 

Not really important, but really funny, I watched at church a 70 year old man completely step right on top of the bishops youngest child who threw himself on the floor in a tantrum, lose his balance and almost crush this sobbing toddler, but was ultimately saved by the bishop and one of his counselors. 

Anyways, they're both completely okay and nothing happened - it was just a moment where you don't know whether to laugh or cry. I just stood there in horror and amusement. Afterwards, the bishop offered to drive us home and the child consoled himself showing me a magic trick his mom had taught him, so he's all good.

Expanding the Family Tree

My daughter in the mission Hermana Villagrán is training this next transfer which means I'm officially a grandma! 🤑 My joy could not be fuller!!!

• Watched a dog get hit by a bus and die. :-( 
• Our friend Uma came to church and said she wants us to pass by again to walk to church with her next week

En español 

El hijo del obispo se bautizó

Esta semana fue el bautismo del hijo del obispo y ¡fue súper chuni! Fue prácticamente un evento de estaca con muchísima gente que vino y mostraron un pequeño video con fotos y videos del niño, entre otras cosas.

Vinieron muchos amigos, lo cual fue genial, y nuestra amiga Milagros está más decidida que nunca a dejar de fumar para su bautismo!

Esta semana se bautiza el 24, así que, por favor, oren por ella para que se mantenga limpia esta semana.

Eduardo es la pareja de nuestra amiga Milagros, y antes no sabíamos si le interesaba el Evangelio o si solo quería apoyarla. Pero esta semana nos contó que tuvo un sueño en el que Jesús lo miró y le dijo que necesitaba un cambio. Eduardo dijo que estaba realmente listo para un cambio en su vida y que también va a dejar de fumar para poder bautizarse con Milagros. Su bautizo será el 31 si logra dejar de fumar a tiempo, así que oren por él también. 

Noticia locasss

No es realmente importante, pero sí muy gracioso. Vi en la iglesia a un hombre de 70 años pisarle por completo al hijo menor del obispo, quien fue arrojado al suelo llorando. Perdió el equilibrio y casi lo aplasta, pero el obispo y uno de sus consejeros lo salvaron.

En fin, ambos están completamente bien y no pasó nada. Fue solo un momento en el que no sabes si reír o llorar. Me quedé allí, horrorizada jajaja. Después, el obispo se ofreció a llevarnos a casa y el niño se consoló mostrándome un truco de magia que le había enseñado su madre, así que está bien.

Ampliando el árbol genealógico

Mi hija de la misión, la Hermana Villagrán, está entrenando en este próximo traslado, ¡lo que significa que soy abuela! 🤑 ¡Mi alegría es inmensa!

 Otras cosas

• Vi a un perro morir atropellado por un autobús.

• Nuestra amiga Uma vino a la iglesia y dijo que quiere que pasemos de nuevo para acompañarla a la iglesia la próxima semana 

• Nuestro amigo Emmanuel dijo que quiere bautizarse! Aguante 31 de agosto!!

• La mamá de mi compañera me envió perfume. 🥰

• Otro traslado en Santa Rosa con la Hermana Bertadyn. 🫶🏻💕💗

Baptizing through the Power of Prayer (8/11/25)

Baptismsss

We did it gang! Samuel and Shiara got baptized on Saturday!! It was so perfect, the water was hot, the font filled up the perfect amount, lots of members came, there was food for everyone, and it was all just so perfect! 

Samuel and Shiara were so excited! They invited a bunch of people so there were a lot of friends and family in the church that weren't members and we got to talk with a lot of them! One of the kids starting running around and telling everyone that when he turns 8 in Octuber he wants to be baptized too hahahaha! 

But it was such a perfect day and Samuel and Shiara had the biggest smiles on their faces. It made all the days where they were distracted when we were teaching, or when their dogs bit us while teaching worth it! They really are so pure and perfect! They are little pieces of heaven here on earth, I just love them!! 💕

Happy Day!

The Power of Prayer! 

This week I had a revelation as I was reading in 3 Nephi, I found this scripture that says, 

"26 And Jesus said unto them: Pray on; nevertheless they did not cease to pray." 

We must pray always!!! That means that we act and live in a way as if we were 24/7 having a conversation with God! So this week we prayed a lot more, and saw some really cool miracles. 

One day we felt kind of lost and we had our plans and knew where we were going, but we just didn't feel like it was right. So we stopped in the street and prayed for God to show us what we needed to do instead. We walk 5 feet and Hermana Bertadyn sees a woman talking on the phone with her back turned to us and says we need to talk to her. 

We go up to her, she hangs up the phone to talk to us and it turns out she has been taught by missionaries before. Anyways I ask her about baptism and she says she'd really like to be baptized. We put a baptismal date and leave and almost start crying for how crazy it was! 

Little did we know when we come back the next day we share the story of how we found her and she starts crying because she says she had prayed for some kind of sign that God really listens to her prayers, and we were her answer 💕

Other miracles!

A different day we decided to stop in the street and pray as well, this time to find someone who wants to be baptized. And the first person we talked to after was a woman who once we started sharing started crying about how much she loves God and how she needs a change in her life! 

She also accepted a baptismal date and told us she wanted her 9 year old daughter to be baptized as well! 

Prayer is so powerful!! Sometimes it doesn't always get answered in the way we think, or want, but they always get answered!! 

Spiritual Thought 

Had to give a talk on Sunday and I wanted to share this scripture that I talked about, 

D&C 132:5 "For all who will have a blessing at my hands shall abide the law which was appointed for that blessing, and the conditions thereof, as were instituted from before the foundation of the world."

I think it's so important to remember that in order to be able to receive blessings from God, we must live in a manner that means we are worthy to receive that blessing. 

If I want the blessing of good health I can't smoke a pack of cigarettes every day. If I want food for my family I can't just sit back and do nothing. This is the nature of blessings, God magnifies our efforts, and if we don't work and we aren't worthy to live according to the law required to recieve a blessing, we won't receive it. 

God won't give pearls to swine. We all have moments where we are swine, but we can always repent and start to live in a manner that allows us to receive the blessings the Lord has in store for us! 

I did a thing and got a haircut.

¡Bautismos!

¡Lo logramos, pibes! ¡Samuel y Shiara se bautizaron el sábado! Fue perfecto: el agua estaba caliente, la pila bautismal se llenó a la perfección, vinieron muchos miembros, hubo comida para todos, y todo fue simplemente perfecto!

¡Samuel y Shiara estaban tan emocionados! Invitaron a un montón de gente, así que había muchos amigos y familiares en la iglesia que no eran miembros, y pudimos hablar con muchos de ellos! Uno de los niños empezó a correr por todos lados y a decirles a todos que cuando cumpla 8 años en octubre también quiere bautizarse, ¡jajaja!

Pero fue un día perfecto y Samuel y Shiara tenían una sonrisa enorme en sus rostros. ¡Hizo que todos los días en que se distrajeron mientras enseñábamos, o cuando sus perros nos mordieron mientras enseñábamos, valieran la pena! ¡Realmente son tan puros y perfectos! Son pequeños pedazos del cielo aquí en la tierra, ¡los adoro! 💕

¡El poder de la oración!

 Esta semana tuve una revelación mientras leía 3 Nefi. Encontré este pasaje que dice:

"26 Y Jesús les dijo: Seguid orando; y ellos no cesaban de orar."

¡Debemos orar siempre! Eso significa que actuamos y vivimos como si estuviéramos conversando con Dios  24/7. Así que esta semana oramos mucho más y vimos milagros increíbles.

Un día nos sentimos un poco perdidos. Teníamos nuestros planes y sabíamos adónde íbamos, pero simplemente no nos parecía correcto. Así que nos detuvimos en la calle y oramos para que Dios nos mostrara qué debíamos hacer. Caminamos unos pasos y  Hermana Bertadyn vio a una mujer hablando por teléfono de espaldas y me dijo que necesitábamos hablar con ella.

Nos acercamos a ella, colgó el teléfono para hablar con nosotras y resultó que había recibido enseñanzas de misioneros en el pasado. En fin, le pregunté sobre el bautismo y nos dijo que le encantaría bautizarse. Pusimos fecha para el bautismo y nos fuimos, ¡casi llorando de lo loco que fue!

No nos imaginábamos que al volver al día siguiente le contábamos cómo la encontramos y ella se ponía a llorar porque decía que había orado pidiendo alguna señal de que Dios realmente escuchaba sus oraciones, y que nosotros éramos su respuesta. 💕

¡Otros milagros!

Otro día decidimos parar en la calle y orar también, esta vez para encontrar a alguien que quisiera bautizarse. Y la primera persona con la que hablamos después fue una mujer que, en cuanto empezamos a compartir, empezó a llorar por lo mucho que ama a Dios y por cómo necesita un cambio en su vida.

También aceptó la fecha del bautismo y nos dijo que también quería que bautizaran a su hija de 9 años.

¡La oración es tan poderosa! A veces no siempre recibimos la respuesta que pensamos o deseamos, ¡pero siempre la recibimos! 

Pensamiento Espiritual

El domingo tuve que dar un discurso y quería compartir este pasaje de las Escrituras que mencioné:

D y C 132:5: "Porque todos los que quieran recibir una bendición de mi mano han de obedecer la ley que fue decretada para tal bendición, así como sus condiciones, según fueron instituidas desde antes de la fundación del mundo."

Creo que es muy importante recordar que, para poder recibir las bendiciones de Dios, debemos vivir de una manera que nos haga dignos de recibirlas.

Si quiero la bendición de la buena salud, no puedo fumar un paquete de cigarrillos todos los días. Si quiero comida para mi familia, no puedo quedarme haciendo nada. Esta es la naturaleza de las bendiciones: Dios magnifica nuestros esfuerzos, y si no trabajamos y no somos dignos de vivir de acuerdo con la ley requerida para recibir una bendición, no la recibiremos.

Dios no da perlas a los chanchos. Todos tenemos momentos en los que somos unos chanchos, pero siempre podemos arrepentirnos y comenzar a vivir de una manera que nos permita recibir las bendiciones que el Señor tiene reservadas para nosotros.
