The veil o’er the earth is beginning to burst

Camila

So this week on P-day (preparation day) we decided to go to an escape room! We ended up doing one that was batman themed and super fun and at the end the lady, Camila, who was helping us, noticed our missionary tags and asked us if we were from the temple. We told her "yes" and she asked when the last day to go was, so we told her and gave her our number. 

A few days later, she texts us and tells us she is planning to go on Saturday. So she comes on Saturday with her mom and the line is HUGE! She waits literally more than an hour, telling us the whole time that at 6pm she has to go to work. We get to the door and we're about to enter at 5:50. She tells us she can't wait anymore and goes to work without going inside the temple after waiting in the huge line. :-(

We go through with her mom who loved it and gave us her number, but we were feeling pretty down for Camila. The temple closes at 9pm and that was when she was scheduled to get off of work. She texted us later telling us she ditched work early to come to the temple! So at 8:50pm she arrives and we plead with the workers to let her in since she already waited in the line! 

They did, and we went through the temple with her!! She loved it so much and was so grateful she could go! It was just so special!!! 

Natasha

This week we met a girl named Natasha! She was so nice and literally after meeting her for 2 minutes she had already passed us her address, her number, and her place of work! So we visited her and she told us she would totally get baptized in the church if she knew it was the true church. 

This week she came to church and loved it!! We're excited for her to keep progressing! 

Oriel

So like 2 weeks ago we found this kid on the street named Oriel. We invited him to church and he accepted! So we talk with him a little more as the weeks go by and that Sunday he comes to church!! But it turns out the elders are actually already teaching his mom as well (surprise!) so they both came to church. Anyways this awkwardness is the problem with sharing the same area cause it turns out we're all teaching the same family. 

Manuel

At the temple on Friday my companion was talking with this guy named Manuel who had a lot of questions. At the end he ends up passing her his number and we invite him to church and he accepted! So we go to church with him and he tells us that he's looking to have spiritual experiences to strengthen his faith in Christ! We can help him with that.

Julio

So we had some bomb divisions this week with Punta Alta, and on the way home in the Uber we start talking with this guy who literally opens up about his whole life to us. He shares about addictions he has, and mistakes he's made, and about how much he wants to change his life. 

So we of course share about baptism and how he can receive forgiveness from God for his mistakes by sincerely repenting. He tells us he wants to get baptized so we jot down his number and send the reference off to the missionaries in his area. The crazy thing is he literally only lives one block away from the church. 

It's so cool to get to be in the right place at the right time like that and help people get to feel the peace that Christ offers them! 

Other Things

• Was able to be present the first and last day of the Temple Open House 
• A literal inferno started up behind the temple open house on the last day and literally was dying from the smoke that came up for like 5 hours. 
• There were HUGE lines of people the last day of the temple!! 
• Had divisions in Punta Alta and basically received a lot of
  beauty tips because both Hermana Cook and Hermana Santos are cosmetologists. 
• Officially have to start MyPlan this week... 
• Bought a Liahona necklace! 

Spiritual Thought

Camila 

¡Así que esta semana en Pday decidimos ir a una sala de escape! Terminamos haciendo uno que tenía el tema de Batman y súper divertido y al final la dama, Camila, que nos estaba ayudando, vio nuestras etiquetas misioneras y nos preguntó si éramos del templo. Le dijimos que sí y ella preguntó cuándo fue el último día para ir, así que le dijimos y le dimos nuestro número. Unos días después nos envía un mensaje de texto y nos dice que el sábado irá. 

¡Así que ella viene el sábado con su mamá y la línea es enorme! Así que espera literalmente más de una hora, diciéndonos todo el tiempo que a las 6:00 p. m. tiene que ir a trabajar. Llegamos a la puerta y estamos a punto de entrar a las 5:50. Ella nos dice que ya no puede esperar y se va a trabajar sin entrar al templo después de esperar en la fila enorme. Seguimos con su madre a quien le encantó y nos dio su número, pero nos sentimos bastante deprimidos por Camila. 

El templo cierra a las 9:00 p. m. y fue entonces cuando salió del trabajo. ¡Ella nos envía un mensaje de texto más tarde diciéndonos que abandonó el trabajo temprano para venir al templo! ¡Así que a las 8:50 llega y les suplicamos a los trabajadores que la dejen entrar ya que ya esperó en la fila! Lo hicieron y pasamos por el templo con ella!! ¡Le encantó tanto y estaba tan agradecida de poder ir! fue tan especial!!! 

Natasha 

¡Esta semana conocimos a una chica llamada Natasha! ¡Era tan amable y, literalmente, después de conocerla durante 2 minutos, ya nos había pasado su dirección, su número y su lugar de trabajo! Así que la visitamos y ella nos dijo que podría ser bautizada por completo en la iglesia si sabía que era la verdadera iglesia. Esta semana vino a la iglesia y le encantó!! ¡Estamos emocionados de que ella siga progresando! 

Oriel 

Así que hace 2 semanas encontramos a este niño en la calle llamado Oriel. ¡Lo invitamos a la iglesia y él acepta! ¡Así que hablamos con él un poco más a medida que pasan las semanas y el domingo tailandés viene a la iglesia! Pero resulta que los ancianos ya están enseñando a su madre también que también vino a la iglesia. De todos modos, este es el problema de compartir la misma área porque resulta que todos estamos enseñando a la misma familia. 

Manuel 

En el Templo el viernes mi compañero estaba hablando con este tipo llamado Manuel que tenía muchas preguntas. ¡Al final él termina pasándole su número y lo invitamos a la iglesia y él aceptó! ¡Así que vamos a la iglesia con él y nos dice que está buscando tener experiencias espirituales para fortalecer su fe en Cristo!

Así que tuvimos algunas divisiones fuegisimos esta semana con Punta Alta, y de camino a casa en el Uber empezamos a hablar con este tipo que literalmente nos abre sobre toda su vida. Comparte sobre las adicciones que tiene y los errores que ha cometido, y sobre cuánto quiere cambiar su vida. 

Entonces, por supuesto, compartimos sobre el bautismo y cómo puede recibir el perdón de Dios por sus errores al arrepentirse sinceramente. Nos dice que quiere bautizarse, así que anotamos su número y enviamos la referencia a los misioneros de su área. Lo loco es que literalmente solo vive a una cuadra de la iglesia. ¡Es genial llegar a estar en el lugar correcto en el momento correcto como ese y ayudar a las personas a sentir la paz que Cristo les ofrece! 

Otras cosas 

• Pude estar presente el primer y último día de la jornada de puertas abiertas del templo 
• Un infierno literal comenzó detrás de la jornada de puertas abiertas del templo el último día y literalmente se estaba muriendo por el humo que surgió durante 5 horas. 
• ¡Había enormes filas de personas el último día del templo! 
• Tuve divisiones en Punta Alta y básicamente recibió muchos consejos de belleza porque tanto Hermana Cook como Hermana Santos son cosmetólogos. 
• Oficialmente tengo que comenzar myPlan esta semana... 
• ¡Compré un collar de Liahona!
