God Fills! / Dios llena!! (7/28/25)

Perdon por todos mis amigos que hablan español, pero espero que google translate pueda comunicar lo que estoy diciendo jajaja

Hey gang,

This week was great, but every week is great with Hermana Bertadyn!

Divisions!

We had divisions this week with Hermana Elcock and Hermana Yacanto, and they are the best!! It was such a miracle filled day! I was with Hermana Elcock, who says she's a little shy, but we talked with everyone we possibly could and that's just proof that God helps us do what we think we cant do alone!

They were some great divisions, all together we managed to find 17 people who were interested in hearing the gospel message! In one day! Which is crazy because the mission goal for 1 week is 14 people! I just know that when we really stretch ourselves and show the lord we're willing to sacrifice, like Hermana Elcock did when she really put in the effort to talk with everyone despite her shyness or difficulty with the language, the lord rewards us and shows us big miracles!!

Hunger to Baptize?

This week in a meeting of the leaders of the mission, two very wise Zone leaders talked about the urge to help their Zone have "hambre de bautizar" or "Hunger to baptize." I liked very much what they had said and began to apply it to myself. Do I have hunger ti baptize? Do I need to baptize like I need to eat when I'm starving? Do I depend on the lord and am I humble and diligent so he knows he can trust in me?

I like what they said because baptism is the essential ordinance we need to return to live with our Heavenly Father. Without baptism, there literally is no other way. It's literally impossible to live with God if we do not get baptized by the proper authority of god, (the priesthood), in the manner that Jesus showed us, (for immersion in water, followed by receiving the gift of the holy ghost).

We are not just here to teach people to pray, we are here to prepare them to one day in their lives, accept and prepare to enter the kingdom of God, through baptism.

A couple of scriptures I like about baptism that teach this same principle are,

3 Nephi 11:
"38 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and be baptized in my name, and become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God. 39 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that this is my doctrine, and whoso buildeth upon this buildeth upon my rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against them."

John 3:5
"5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God"

Matthew 28
"19 ¶ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Anyways all this to say, the journey is not done after baptism, we still have to keep puahing forward, we need to go to church every week, keep praying, keep doing the little things to keep our testimonies strong. But we also need to understand, baptism is the first convenant we make with our Heavenly Father, and if we stay true to promise until the end, we will gain life eternal, and live with our families forever.

I love you all!! Go forth this week filled with the love of God and knowing that he fills all our holes and helps us do grand things!

  1. Thank you for this message. My stake conference is this weekend, so we won't be taking the sacrament. This reminder about our baptismal covenants will help fill the void for me.
